At Foam Expo China, we are exhibiting the newest addition to our Ecozote? Sustainability+ foams range. Ecozote PE/R is a closed cell, crosslinked low-density polyethylene foam which incorporates 30% post-consumer recycled LDPE and complies with emerging requirements for recycled content in consumer packaging applications.

Ecozote PE/R is a fine cell, matt black material with outstanding aesthetics. It shares the same properties as Zotefoams’ renowned Plastazote? polyethylene foams, being consistent, durable, pure and odor-free, thanks to a proprietary autoclave manufacturing process. In keeping with other Zotefoams materials, Ecozote PE/R offers a better performance to weight ratio than foams made using other methods. As such, the first grade in the Ecozote PE/R range has a density of 38kg/m3, meaning that it contains less material and is lighter to transport through the supply chain than the 45kg/m3 grades typically used in sectors such as luxury packaging.

Debuting in 2022, the Ecozote range responds to the need for plastic products that improve circularity or reduce reliance on fossil fuel-derived raw materials. Ecozote PE/R is the second range launched under the brand, following last year’s Ecozote LDR – also a closed cell, crosslinked LDPE material – which incorporates 30% post-industrial waste.

Alongside Ecozote, we are presenting the most comprehensive range of technical block foams, including the AZOTE? polyolefin and ZOTEK? high-performance foam ranges.

AZOTE materials, including Plastazote polyethylene and Evazote? ethylene copolymer foams, are acknowledged globally as best-in-class solution for a range of applications across industries including automotive, aviation, aerospace, product protection, medical, sporting goods and more.

The ZOTEK high-performance foams range is designed for the most demanding applications. Produced from engineering polymers including polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), polyamide (nylon) and thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), the materials offer outstanding performance across a range of properties including heat management, flammability performance, chemical resistance and energy management.

ZOTEK F is established as a versatile material for air- and spacecraft interiors thanks to its outstanding fire, smoke and toxicity (FST) performance, which includes world-class flammability rating UL 94 V-0. Weight savings of up to 70% have been achieved when replacing traditional materials with ZOTEK F. Its heat management capabilities and inherent flame retardance make ZOTEK F a valuable tool in mitigating potential thermal runaway in electric vehicle battery assemblies.

Properties of ZOTEK N include outstanding durability and energy absorption, while ZOTEK T delivers exceptional energy return.
